Overview
SideDock is a browser productivity extension that helps you multitask with a side panel, task management, notes, and focus tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
🔒 SideDock does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
All information you enter into SideDock—including tasks, notes, tab configurations, and settings—is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs.
Permissions Explained
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Storage | Saves your tasks, notes, settings, and docked tabs locally on your device. |
| Geolocation | Used solely to display local weather information. Location data is sent only to a weather API and is not stored or shared. |
| Notifications | Displays reminders for tasks and Pomodoro timer events. |
| Host Permissions | Required to embed websites in the side panel. No data from these sites is collected or transmitted. |
Third-Party Services
SideDock uses the following external APIs for functionality:
- Open-Meteo API — Weather data (no API key, no tracking)
- BigDataCloud API — Reverse geocoding for city names (no tracking)
These services receive only the minimal data required (latitude/longitude) to provide weather information. No personal identifiers are sent.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- We cannot access your data
- We do not have servers that store your information
- Your data remains under your control
